College History
GEOS Auckland was established in 1984
and is one of the oldest private English
language colleges in New Zealand. GEOS
Auckland is also a Teacher Training centre
with programmes for native and non-native
English speakers.
College Location
The college is located in the city centre in a
quiet square next to St Patrick’s Cathedral.
It is 3 minutes walk from Queen street and
the main city shopping area and just around
the corner from all the major bus stops.
GEOS Auckland is only 5 minutes walk from
the ferry terminal where students can catch
boats to the North Shore and other places
around the harbour and Hauraki Gulf.
Students
Students aged from 11 years and upwards
come from all over the world. They come
to improve their general English skills or
to prepare for international examinations
such as IELTS or the Cambridge main suite
exams. Those interested in pursuing a career
in English teaching can join LIFT or TESOL
courses as preparation for the Cambridge
and TKT exam. Many students elect to
combine study and travel by using the NZ
Superlink scheme to transfer between the
three New Zealand campuses. Students are
placed in classes appropriate to their English
level. |
